I turned 40 and all of a sudden I was looking at where I landed. Not quite what I expected. Not bad, just different. Why?
It turns out the Why is the big point. In my day job I run a Mystery Shopping Company in Australia so I have some insight into what does and doesn’t work in Organisations. Same thing - people don’t know why they are doing things.
Most self help books are hard to believe, or like. Most business books are the same. However, there is a saying that a mind once stretched never returns to its original dimensions.
This blog is about finding meaning in our everyday lives and providing some of the tools which help our lives. Some of the tools are old school, some are cutting edge, but most importantly they must be wrapped around the Why.
I am a father of three Children with my original wife of over 17 years. Love Lorena to death. I live just south of Sydney in a city called Wollongong, where I was born. In between I’ve lived in the US (Scottsdale and Memphis) and travel extensively.

Congrats Steven. You seem to have landed in a great place and you are making the most of it. Especially with the family.
I am older, find this computer technology needs a lot of learning, but I am in there for the ride.
I enjoy the mystery shopping. I believe it is good for all concerned. We need something to ensure the happiness of people involved in the shopping business, from the manager to the customer and mainly by supporting the shop assistant.
You seem to have a lot of influence in this area and I envy you. I also wish you all the best.
