6 Quick Tips on Getting More Mystery Shopping Work

Crayon TipsIf you are a mystery shopper and looking for more work, as the owner of one such company I would suggest you try a few simple tricks.

1) Log on at the start of the month because monthly jobs are put on in the first few days.

2) Get it right and you get the inside run on the more lucrative work. Mystery Shopping companies rank shoppers on many factors. When time-frames are tight, the better shoppers get the work - and that work tends to pay more. Shoppers are ranked on many things including:

  • Accuracy - following instructions
  • Punctuality of previous assignments
  • Dependability - can you be counted on for a rush job.

3) Staff in the mystery shopping company have their favourites. Despite having over 26,000 shoppers, you would be surprised how many names are recognised by the staff. They know who is accurate, punctual, and dependable.

4) Keep checking your job posting websites but don’t call asking for the next job. The information you are given on the phone is the same as on the website.

5) Learn the technology. Know how to scan and use your computer more deeply. It will mean you don’t fall down on the dependability stakes.

6) Update the system if you are travelling. Most companies have regional jobs which are hard to fill. They may pay better and could give you a decent break.

Some upcoming tips:

- How to earn more per shop

- How to remember long questionnaires while you are in store.

This is great information for mystery shoppers!
Dependability and accuracy are two huge factors in increasing the amount of work you will do for companies.

One suggestion for checking for shops - a lot of companies will start posting around the 20th of the month for shops for the new month. It is helpful to start checking sites then, again at the beginning of the month.

Thank you for a great informational article!

Being new to mystery shopping, I found this article very informative. I did not know anything about getting the inside run. Thanks for a useful article. I look forward to reading more of such informative articles.

Very useful information. Thanks. The concept of a newsletter containing general information and practical tips from a Mystery Shopping company can only be a positive for shoppers wishing to do their best work, consistently.

I think this is a great idea Stephen. I don’t feel so cut off from the rest of the country now. It’s great to hear what other mystery shoppers have to say.

Thank you for the inside tips, I was checking
once a week, and a little dissapointed with
the minimal amounts of shops offered. I will
follow your tips so that I get more action.

Hi, I am just loving picking the jobs that suit me when I am already out taht day in that area, and being paid for it. I feel like I am contributing to my family income and feel like I am doing something apart from raising kids. Thank you so much!

The general comments always seem to let me down what are the three main attributes to report when doing this part of an assignment

In response to George. Jobs seem to disappear one you accept one because there may be client restrictions preventing the same person from completing more than one shop per round. The clients like to mix up the shoppers.

Hi, we provide mystery shopping services in Russia and I must say that all that has been mentioned above is true.
There is one more thing though: dear shoppers, be always honest. Never fall into temptation to forge a report or tell lies. Sooner or later it will be revealed. It is not worth it.
