Start Connecting
As you will find in this website, it will alter between the how and why. The previous post was about How to Get Better Service, ie how to complain and get your way.
For now I want to give you the first tip on getting properly connected in the world. If you don’t have one, I would strongly suggest getting a Google ID. Getting a Google ID will allow you to set up email accounts (if you want) but more importantly it opens you up to the world which allows you to do most things that most people need.
I use:
- Gmail - Google’s free email
- iGoogle - personalised home page
- Google Docs - a free spreadsheet product
- Google Spreadsheets - as the name says - again free
- Google Reader - allows me to keep up to date when there is a change to a website I’m following
- Picassa - where I store my photo’s both on my PC and online
- Google Notebook - where I keep all my notes on-line - no more losing notebooks
- Google Calendar
- To-Do List - actually I don’t use this much.
- Google Blogger for my on-line work Blog
You can find all the resources here
So there it is, the best thing is they are all free. Yes Google owns me online, but everything works, everything.
